Skylights and Siding

Jason is installing 3 skylights, two small and one large. The small ones he installed himself, and he will need a buff friend to help with the large one when it arrives (again). He’s had three damaged ones shipped already, with a fourth on its way. It would be nice to finally get that one in, but I decided to go ahead and post anyway.

The siding is cedar double teardrop. Here’s a link to the local supplier.

Here’s a link to the siding he used.

I am the father of two boys, 5 and 8, and married to their wonderful mom. I've been a stay-at-home dad now for 8 years. Now that both boys will be in school full time in the near future, I'm embarking on a new business endeavor: building a tiny house to sell.

  1. Jason, can you tell me the price? And the outside dimensions? Does it come off the trailer or stay on it? Etc. I’m in FoPo and walked by it today….

    1. Hi Betsy!

I haven’t priced it out yet. I still have the interior to do and won’t know the price until I get closer to completion. It depends on the quality of appliances and finish surfaces. The trailer is 8’x20′ and the Tiny House is 8’8″x 20’4″ approximately. The Tiny House is permanently attached to the trailer with 6 large HDU2 STRONG-TIE hold downs and multiple bolts.

If you want to take a closer look feel free to stop on by!

  2. Wow, that’s really coming along! I think you might a great choice with the narrower siding, it really scales well with the tiny house. I wish we’d built that dormer on ours, it looks awesome. Thanks for sharing the update!
